Signs of Hospitality...

The pineapple has long been a symbol of welcome and hospitality, but today it's made it's way onto the fashion and home décor scene, in a big way.  They're not only tasty, but beautiful, as well, and are popular to use when styling a home or party.  Let's check out where they've been popping up.

Welcome your guests to your home, while adding a graphic punch...

If you lose your bikini top in the surf (been there), they'll work in a pinch (why didn't I think of this!)...

These are fun, no, really, they are, trust me...just close your eyes and picture a man in your life wearing them (like your husband, boyfriend, father, brother).  See told you they're fun! ;o)

Put the print on a pair of men's trousers, perhaps not, but on a little summer dress...super sweet!

Market Fashion...

This inspires me to throw on a colorful tunic and find a great farmers market this weekend...

Also, that tote is too cute!

Life Changing...

This is something my husband and I have always believed....

When we made the decision to move back to Hawaii with our seventeen month old, we were terrified. As we drove our car from Texas to LA, to ship it off to Hawaii and catch our flight, I swear I threw up the entire way. I don't think I've ever been so scared, but that is how we knew it was the right decision. If it makes you want to throw up and scares the living daylights out of you...GO FOR IT!
Anything life changing is hard, y'all.

Making that first step into the unknown, into the abyss, is why I'm now sitting here in the living room of our historic bungalow in Australia. Trust me, never in a million years would I have thought that spending almost every last penny we had to our names, to take a job and move our family back to Hawaii, would have lead us to Australia. Amazing things that you never thought possible can happen when you make those leaps of faith that, quite frankly, will scare the living sh*t out of you!

Currently, we've been feeling as if we're at that moment, again, when it's time to start making those crazy, life altering decisions. So many paths to choose from, but we must remember that it's that awful, stomach wrenching feeling that will lead us down the right path. Just remember that old adage, nothing worthwhile comes easy.

Yoga {Essentials}

Well, I finally did it.  I joined a gym and attended my first yoga class today.  The one and only other class I've ever attended was in 2005, so to say I had absolutely no idea what I was doing is an understatement.

Luckily the instructor was new, so she had no idea that I'd never been to any of the classes and when she walked around class adjusting people, she always said "perfect" or "beautiful" when she passed by me.  That made me feel better.  Seeing myself in a million studio mirrors, however, did not.  Yikes!

Yeah, my butt (not one of my problem areas) will be attending yoga at least once a week (for an hour).  Tomorrow I'm doing a class that combines yoga, tai chi and pilates.  Did I mention that my hips are sore?  Oh, and before class I jogged on the treadmill for twenty minutes.  Yay me!

So, with all of the classes, I'm attending, I need to hook myself up with some cute gear...just some essentials.  This is what I'm thinking...

Namaste...

Indigo Block Print Dhurrie...

Folks, I believe I have found the new rug for our living room.  On my last living room design board I showed a black and white dhurrie and said that I wanted to find one for our living room that had some sort of a graphic print.

Well, here it is...

Rail Cotton Dhurrie, 5'x8', Indigo

I love that it's 100% cotton and is handwoven and hand blocked in Jaipur, India.

My only complaint is that the largest size is a 5X8 and I'd like for it to be larger, but I can live with that. For the style and the price, it's really hard to complain about anything.
