Signs of Hospitality...

The pineapple has long been a symbol of welcome and hospitality, but today it's made it's way onto the fashion and home décor scene, in a big way.  They're not only tasty, but beautiful, as well, and are popular to use when styling a home or party.  Let's check out where they've been popping up.

Welcome your guests to your home, while adding a graphic punch...

These are fun, no, really, they are, trust me...just close your eyes and picture a man in your life wearing them (like your husband, boyfriend, father, brother).  See told you they're fun! ;o)

Bali Travel {Fashion}

We've discussed the perfect outfit to wear when site seeing along the coast, now it's time to see what to wear inland. This would be cute when touring the terraced rice fields in Ubud, walking through the local villages, visiting some of the many temples and of course shopping.

Pom Pom Scarf...

Yesterday I went to a craft store to pick up some colorful yarn to make pom poms for the pillow project I blogged about recently.  While there I saw some yarn I thought would make a cute scarf.  Since it was on sale for two dollars, I picked some up.  The only problem with this plan is that I don't know how to knit, but I can crochet, so that is what I did.  I really should learn how to knit.

Since I was practicing my pom pom making skills for the pillows I'm going to make, I thought why not add some to the scarf.  So here is how it turned out.

Wow, it's pretty colorful.  The hubby says it reminds him of a Thneed from the Lorax. Whatever! It's kind of cute, only cost $2 in supplies, took a few hours to make and I got to do something creative. Perhaps I'll gift it to one of my younger cousins...it might be appreciated a bit more by someone under the age of twelve.

Travel {Swimwear}

With all the effort I've been putting into healthy eating and working out, I want to show off my results, with style, on our Bali vacation next year.  What better way to do that than with cute swimwear?

This is what I have in mind...

Bright and colorful.  Perfect for an exotic getaway!

It's a perfect travel outfit...wearing either swimsuit under that adorable cover up, a fab hat, oversize ethnic bag, classic aviators and a pair of stylish flip flops, you're ready to spend the day site seeing, shopping, and lunching, but you're all set to pull over when you spot that perfect beach.

You can find all the sources on my Fashion Love board.

Ethnic Jewels...

Hey guys, hope you're having a great weekend.  Today, I wanted to share some of the ethnic jewels I've recently collected on my Jewelry Board...These remind me that I need to start adding new pieces to my collection.

1/2/3/4/5/6
 It's a great way to elevate a very basic outfit, like a t-shirt and cutoffs.  Go from blending in to standing out with a few bold, ethnic jewels.  Loving the Birkenstocks with the "vegan leather" upper, too bad they still have a suede footbed.

More Bali Dreamin'...

I'm starting to make my list of things I really want to do on my, long desired, trip to Bali....

First, I want to share how I envision myself in my Balinese dreams...the following images seem to capture my visions, perfectly!

Casually tropical, sipping some coconut water, while wandering through the markets...Perhaps with a pair of cut-off jean shorts...just sayin'!...

Fair Trade African Prints and Plant Based...

How cute are these little peplum tops with matching shorts? You would definitely make a statement with the bold FAIR+TRUE Fair Trade African prints!   Found these at a cute online shop, yesterday, called Fashion-Conscience.Com.

Since I've decided to go vegan (plant-based whole foods), I thought it only right to look around for not only vegan friendly items, but environmentally and socially conscience items as well.   However, I have no intention of getting rid of any existing clothing, shoes, purses, accessories, home furnishings/décor that do not fit this new criteria (that would be very wasteful and not environmentally friendly), but I will make this a priority when making future purchases.

Oh, and in case you've been wondering, the "vegan thing" has been going great.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy, as my son would say.  Skin is still perfectly clear, energy levels still super high, almost no heartburn (unless I eat a super acidic meal right before bed, but still nowhere near as bad as it's been in the past...like from a level 10 pre-vegan to an occasional level 2 now), and continued weight loss.  I'll do another post soon and will include links to some of my favorite movies about a plant based whole foods diet and veganism.
