Fabric Love...
When I saw this fabric, I instantly thought it would be great for making euro shams for our bed. With the traditional Moroccan print and the natural color, it seems perfect. It's a great price too! Definitely something to think about...

Our Bedding: Pattern & Color
Recently, I mentioned my fondness for a collected look, when it comes to bedding. So, in an attempt to fulfill this fondness, I've been collecting pieces of bedding here and there. The result, so far, has been a departure of what I'm typically drawn to and is, instead, much more colorful.
If you recall, I mentioned that I purchased the bedspread from a Tibetan shop on North Shore, Hawaii called the Ocean Queen. The Linen Euro Shams are from Ikea. I picked up the green and white quatrefoil pillow shams at a factory outlet shop, in Sydney, this past weekend and the green throw pillow (cushion) was from the Nate Berkus collection (I bought it about 6 years ago). My bed itself is the tufted wingback bed from Bombay Co.
Once I get the rubbermaids out of the room, I'll take a photo of the whole room and hopefully by then I'll figure out why all my photos look blurry! We, also, have a great mahogany and bamboo armoire from Bali, a large dresser, vintage nightstands and our new super soft flokati rug, rounding out the space.

Bedding Facelift
Picking up on yesterdays post I thought I'd share a few bedding inspirations I've been collecting for a while now. While looking over the photos I realized that they all had some common threads...simplicity, lack of bold color/pattern, but a ton of texture and subtle pattern.
The first photo, I've blogged about before here (my love of grass cloth and everything about this room... and it still holds true!) This is one of my favorite bedrooms and I adore the simplicity of the bedding, but the pattern in the throw brings in enough interest.
This bedding ensemble is all about texture and mixing monochromatic patterns. I love ethnic elements throughout my home and this bedding brings in that element perfectly. On a side note: I love, love, love the side table and how it is accessorized!
Yet another exotic, ethnic vibe, but I can't help it, it's simply what I'm naturally drawn to. It's best to stay true to what you in your heart of hearts truly love and not just what an industry or current trend says you should love. This is the only way you won't end up having to constantly change your decor...oops got a bit off subject...anywho...this collection is similar to the one above with the ethnic blanket at the foot of the bed and a monochromatic/soothing color scheme.
And the final look was chosen for two reasons. The first, because the headboard with it's color and tufting is similar to mine. Second, I love that it has just a simple spread with those cool tassels, providing just enough interest and the I traveled to an exotic country and picked this up in a little village in a great shop with gorgeous textiles, designed and made by local women, type of story look!
HHHMMM....now I'm wondering if those pillows that I love from yesterdays post would be better suited for our guest room, since my inspiration photos seem much more subdued....any thoughts?
