The New House...

we'll be leasing at the beginning of September...

there are many more cute spaces in the house not shown in the listing, so I'll be sure to take photos of it empty as soon as we move in.
is it bad that, although we've looked at hundreds of homes online over the past couple months, this is actually the only house we toured in person?  What I did, before arriving, is made a list of houses that I wanted to tour.  This house was the very first house I had on my list.  The plan was that if we loved the house we'd jump on it, if we only kind of liked it we'd then move down the list, until either finding something better or waiting a few weeks for new listing to come on the market.

Lucky for us, it was love at first sight (at least for me...the hubby just claimed that he liked it because it made me happy).  I can't wait for all our stuff to arrive from Hawaii and Texas so I can get busy decorating the place and posting photos!

Australian Real Estate

One of my favorite things to do is search for real estate.  I even dabbled in the field.  When I was 23 I went to real estate school and obtained my Hawaii License.  Unfortunately, I fast discovered that my passion DOES NOT lie in the selling, but only in the finding unique properties and decorating them!  Thus, I never sold even one house, in my very short lived career.  I did, however, learn everything that I set out to learn and that was enough for me.

Getting back on subject...while looking around online at Australian Real Estate (I have my reasons???), I found a great little house I'd like to share!...

Love the historic charm!  Just needs a little TLC...

think they'd leave the chair, sofa, rug and chandelier? Also loving the archway and original wood floors...

again...would they leave the rug and lighting?  Check out the decorative ceiling & moldings! Plus a great fireplace and the design on the transom...adorable!

again with the ceiling and moldings!  That double door and fabulous transom...major crush!

If you'd like to see this house for yourself, go here.  Love it!  Would buy it, but total YIKES to the $550,000-$600,000 price tag!  Australia and Hawaii have way too much in common, when it come to real estate sticker shock!  Unfortunately, if I ever (for some reason???) find myself living in this area I'll be renting (and I'd rent this house, if I could)!
