I left it with the original finish. Thought (one day) I'd add a little wax or a nice polish. What do you think? Would you paint the chair? Any thoughts or feedback is happily welcome!

Mid Century Chair Rehab: Finished
Remember, way, way, way back when I rescued this mid century chair off the side of the road? Then I blogged about the fabric options...and decided to wait procrastinate for almost a year! Yesterday, with the move fast approaching, I thought it was time to start wrapping up some of my projects and this chair was at the top of the unfinished list. In all fairness, I did start off with the best intentions (last June). I found the chair, promptly ordered the fabric, took the fabric off the back rest, used the old fabric as a pattern, sewed a new back cover, with cording and all, but I just couldn't get it to work out?! The piece looked perfect until I tried to fit it back onto the chair...the rounded corners, with the piping, just wouldn't lay properly. Frustrated, I just gave up. So, without any upholstery training, I finally decided that attempting to replicate the former professional job was beyond my ability and, therefore (to save my sanity), I decided that the most simple approach was the best approach. So without further ado and without piping, here is the finished (for me) chair...

Pulling it Together
So I'm still working on my chair project. The reupholstering is coming along. Adding the cording has been easier then I thought. However, with a toddler it will be slow going, which is frustrating at times. The lamp project is nearing completion as well. Both lamps have been painted (color paprika), one lamp has been rewired (so far), and I still need to buy two new shades. I know what shades I want, I'm just still hunting them down at a price point I'm willing to pay.
So my to do list is:
-rewire second lamp
-buy two drum shades
-sand and tung oil chair
-finish upholstery

Mid Century Chair Rehab
I've been searching out some fabric for my mid century chair rehabilitation project. So far I've found a few I really like. I may need some help deciding, but I'm leaning towards the first green fabric. Here's a photo of the chair and the fabric possibilities. Whatcha thinkin?
